Date: June 25, 2007

1st September - World Record attempt - Moreton-in Marsh Show - Moreton in Marsh Gloucestershire

Moreton-in-Marsh Show has joined forces with local Morris Dance side-The Ilmington Traditional Morris Men- to organise an attempt for the world record for the Largest Morris Dance. They aim to attract around 500 dancers for the one dance - The Shepherd’s Hey - and have been inviting Morris Dance sides from all around the Midlands and Southern England to come along.

The attempt will be run to Guinness World Record Rules and will take place in the Grand Ring at 1.00 pm.

Many of the current Morris Dance sides have their roots in Cotswold traditions and this event is intended to raise the profile of Morris Dancing both locally and regionally.

This tradional agricultural show is going from strength to strength and is one of the best shows on the circuit.
