Much Ado About Nothing at Hatherop Castle

Features, Events Add comments

Date: July 17, 2007

16th July - 21st July Open Air production by The Cotswold Arcadians

The Cotswold Arcadians is a theatre group based in south-east Gloucestershire who stage large scale, open-air Shakesperian productions.

They have been producing these productions since 1991 and this year they have chosen one of Shakespeare’s most popular love stories “Much Ado About Nothing.”

The light-hearted plot hinges on lovers united and divided, a touch of villainy, the seemingly simple and ignorant uncovering of dark deeds, and ultimately, reconciliation all round.

Just as a love story should be.

This 2007 production is once again set in the beautiful grounds of Hatherop Castle and features the rich and sumptuous costumery of the Tudor period.

Hatherop Castle is two miles north of Fairford and eight miles east of Cirencester. The estates were first recorded in the Domesday Book. It is now a preparatory school.

The Gardens open for picnics from 6pm. Performances start at 8pm. and seating is in a covered, tiered grandstand.
