Saturday 5th April Ebrington Village Hall - Entries staged from 09.00 - Public Viewing from 14.30

A true village show to celebrate the arrival of Spring and to show off the colours and freshness of spring flowers.

Fourteen different classes for Daffodils and Narcissi so you have got to know your Trumpet Daffodils as opposed to your Large-Cupped Daffodils which are different to your Split Corona Daffodils which are not the same as your Short-Cupped Daffodils. All these daffodil types have one flower to a stem and are therefore not a Triandrus Daffodil which has three flowers to a stem. Classes for these daffodil types are all part of the show.

Tulips, Hyacinths, Hellebores, Heathers, Camellia, Polyanthus, Pansies, Cactus , Succulent, Auricula and Amaryllis all have classes plus three Flower Arrangement classes entitled - “Enlightenment” “Silver Wedding” and “The Cruellest Month.”

This year the Gardening Club has included two special classes especially for Families and Children and open to non-members. A Family Scarecrow Competition - a life size Scarecrow which will be displayed in your front garden from March 28th and then bring it to the Village Hall on show day morning to enter the competition.

1st prize £20.00. 2nd prize £10.00.3rd prize £5.00

A Childrens’ Picture, Photograph, Painting or Drawing Competition - the subject is “Your Favourite Local Tree in Winter.” Maximum size A4 picture or 7″ x 5″ unmounted photo. Open to all children in two classes:Up to 9 years and 10 to 14 years. Prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in both classes. Bring your entry to the Village Hall on 5th April.

Ebrington and District Gardening Club is affiliated to The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and The National Vegetable Society (NVS) and meetings are held in the Ebrington Village Hall on the second Tuesday of the month at 19.30. and local garden visits are made including some not open to the general public. Annual membership is £5.00 and children are free.

So get out into your garden, look after your special spring flowers and enter them in the Spring Show and support your local Gardening Club.
