Friday 18th April 19.15 for 19.30 - Edward Sheldon Ltd at Shipston-on-Stour are holding another of their very successful Wine and Dine Evenings. This time they are featuring wines from Tamar Ridge, Tasmania.
Edward Sheldon invite you to join them for a “Compare and Contrast” evening with the wines from Tamar Ridge, Tasmania.
David Courtney-Clack from Tamar Ridge will be talking his audience through eight wines in total. The whole evening will be held in the shop, and each of the wines will be matched to food. The wines will be compared to each other from different sites, looking in particular at the grape varieties and styles. You decide which wine stays and which wine goes!
Vineyards were first established in Tasmania during colonial settlement. Only in relatively recent years, however, has viticulture emerged in the beautiful Tamar Valley to forge a reputation for varietal and sparkling wines of the highest quality.
In less than a decade Tamar Ridge Wines has established its own acclaimed success story as part of Tasmania’s modern wine industry.
The first wines were planted at Tamar ridge in 1994, and the first vintage was released five years later in 1999. The Company continues to grow strongly and is today a leading producer of Tasmanian cool climate wines with sales in every Australian state and a growing list of export markets.
