Saturday 12th April to Sunday 11th May in the Octagon Gallery at Whichford Pottery
A rare opportunity to enjoy the work of fourteen of Britain’s leading Salt and Soda Potters.
Salt and Soda vapour glazing is an exciting firing process. It gives an unique and distinctive surface quality to every type of hand-made ware - from the humble mug to the most complex ceramic sculpture.
The Exhibition is being held in the Octagon Gallery and will feature work by Sheila Casson, Richard Dewar, Jack Doherty, Ray Finch & Winchcombe Pottery, Lisa Hammond, Ian Gregory, Mark Griffiths, John Jelfs, Toff Milway, Phil Rogers, Peter Starkey, Ruthanne Tudball, Sarah Walton and Alastair Young.
Whichford Pottery was established in 1976 by Jim and Dominique Keeling. It is a family run business committed to making only the best British flowerpots at their pottery in Warwickshire.
Their five senior throwers have over 150 years expertise between them and they have now been joined by two other throwers after completion of their apprenticeships.
The Octagon Gallery at Whichford Pottery is the home of Whichford Crockery, their new collection of hand-thrown table and cookware, designed by Adam Keeling. The new range, including roasting dishes, hearty soup bowls, cheese platters, souffle ramekins, large gardeners mugs and plates of all sizes, will entice anyone who enjoys cooking and who’s looking for a stunning way to display their spead.
The work of other world class potters, including Jim and Dominique Keeling, John Jelfs, David Garland and Andrew McGarva, makes for an even more sumptuous array of useful and stylish pottery to give, use and enjoy in the home.
