Hear tales from the Hundred Years War at Moreton Area Centre

Features, Events Add comments

Date: June 13, 2008

Come to the Moreton Area Centre and hear local historian Tim Porter tell the tale of how 14th Century England drifted into the devastating Hundred Years War.

The three nations involved – England, Scotland and France – fought the war primarily on French soil from 1337 to 1453, and Tim Porter will hold talks at the High Street centre in June and July to explain the complex causes of the conflict.

For England, the war was not winnable, but politicians pursued it to the bitter end, and Tim will explain how the Hundred Years War has echoed down the centuries.

The talks take place on Thursday June 19th, July 3rd and July 10th between 2pm and 4pm at the Moreton Area Centre, Moreton-in-Marsh, and refreshments are included.

The cost is £6.50 per talk, with a 10% discount for Museum season ticket holders or Friends of the Corinium Museum.

For further details and to book please contact the Moreton Area Centre on 01608 650881.
