A sale of a fine collection of Chinese Pottery and Porcelain. Four private collections, all from Gloucestershire, containing examples from the Song dynasty (960-1279) right through to the 19th century, will be sure to get the collector’s attention.

The earliest examples are from the Collection of the late Lt. Col. M V B Hill, DSO, MC, which includes Ching P’ai ware.
Examples of this ware include fine saucers, a ewer, bowls and covers. From the same collection a later piece from the Ming dynasty is a rare circular dish of green glaze with incised decoration enamelled a stork and flowers in yellow and aubergine.
Some of the other three collections on offer contain items collected in the 1930s, notably blue and white from the Headley Ward collection and items from the Edson Bradley and Sir Herbert Reed Collections.

The strength of the Chines economy and growing interest from collectors means that early Oriental porcelain and works of art are making excellent prices.
