Please could you contact me my e mail address is horrocj@googlemail.com. Many thanks Janet

It is nice to see so much interest on this site with regards to recycling. It will no doubt be in the future, an everyday way of living but note soon enough ! The company I work for have recently introduced a range of recycling bins for use both indoor and outdoor. The four bin recycling are colour coded to meet the latest European legislation, the recycling stations consist of the following: Plastic / Glass / Cans and paper and can be bought from

In response to Natasha's comments on 10/10/08, I disagree that neither Wombourn or Tettenhall railway station serves a meaningful purpose. Wombourn station is currently used as a tearoom, and not as a station for which it was designed. This setup can surely be achieved in any building - let the station be used as a station!

Tettenhall station is currently being used as a 'nature reserve'. However, the station is isolated with little protection - in fact only a few weeks ago I read in the paper that vandals had hit the site. This will not stop, since the station is very open and it gets very dark there at night, with no protection. You say that the station 'protects the old line' - I dont see how this is true. It just sits there, as it has done for the past 40 years! Its not loved by local residents either, otherwise there would still be a rail service wouldn't there?!? I agree that the station building itself is looked after, but the surrounding area is overgrown. Using the building as a nature centre seems a waste when it could potentially serve as a station again. It would be looked after just as well on the GWSR and would actually serve a purpose.

I dont understand your objections to keeping the station in situ - just look at the mess that is currently being made of Wolverhampton Low Level Station. Wolverhampton Council have no regard for rail transport, the site would have made a perfect metro terminus. I can see Tettenhall and Wombourn following suit. Tettenhall is in a prime location for housing and is in fact surrounded by houses. When those that run the tearoom sell up, what then for the station building?!? At least both would secure a long term future on the GWSR, so why not move both stations there and see them in their full glory again?
