The Snowdonia Marathon, now in its 26th year, was voted “Best UK Marathon” in 2007 and can attract over 1500 competitors. Steve ran with Bib number 459 for Bourton Roadrunners. All the celebrities, including the Bishop of Tewkesbury Rt Revd John Went, attended Christian Aid’s fundraising lunch to celebrate Wotton-under-Edge’s new status as a fair trade town. Christian Aid hosted a well attended and happy lunch to raise money for, and to celebrate the fact that Wotton-under-Edge is now one of the eight (shortly to become nine with Bourton-on-the-Water) designated fair trade towns in Gloucestershire. Counting up to 500 Marathons- Number 451 is completed on target
Features, Places by Tony No Comments »Cotswolds based Steve Edwards completed Marathon number 451 on Sunday April 6th.
Steve only had to go to Taunton, Somerset this time, to complete marathon number 451 in his bid for a world record of running 500 marathons by 2012 in an average time of under 3 hours 20 minutes. Only 49 more races to go! The Flora London Marathon is next on the list.
