Spot Loggins Day – Bretforton’s own Bank Holiday

Events, Features, Places by Tony No Comments »

Wednesday 21st November – 12.00 noon The Fleece Inn

Spot Loggins was reputedly a sheep drover living in the 17th century who drowned in a cattle spring. The local legend is that anyone who runs three times around the spring blindfold will magically lose any items that they are carrying.

The legend will be celebrated at The Fleece with a noon “breakfast” followed by a musical procession and a plum jerkum blessing of the Spot Loggins’ spring. There will be live music in the pub between 7.30 and 9.00pm

The 15th Century Fleece Inn is a quintessential English Country Pub which is owned by the National Trust and run with a love of tradition.

An opportunity to visit is not to be missed.
