Toddington based heritage railway, the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, is laying on a special steam train with a jazz band send off in aid of the cancer charity, Maggie’s Cotswolds. Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown recently met with members of Cirencester SCOPE, officers from the charity and parents of disabled children, to discuss the issues in relation to the future of disabled nineteen year olds when school ends and the lack of Respite Care for parents, carers and the disabled individual themselves. Cotswolds Steve Edwards smashes the world recordOn Sunday 18th May 2008 Steve Edwards smashed the world record by running 10 marathons in 10 days in the fastest ever combined finish time – 35 hours, 20 minutes, 44 seconds – which totally blew away the old record of 37 hours, 39 minutes, 34 seconds set in 2007.

This new world record equates to running each and every marathon in just 3 hours, 32 minutes , 4 seconds on each of ten days which is a truly staggering performance that will sit deservedly in the record books for some time to come.

Steve Edwards completes the Flora London Marathon – Marathon Number 452

Sunday April 13th Cotswolds based Steve Edwards added another marathon to his name in his world record challenge to complete 500 marathons by 2012.
