Was Cheltenham a barometer of the antiques trade today? Well clocks were certainly in demand and although a mixed result overall, there were a number of really good sales, at The Autumn Antiques and Fine Art Fair held in association with LAPADA at The Centaur, Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire on 27th-30th November 2008, including a £35,000 Lowry drawing from Neptune Fine Art to a new client from Derby. The North Cotswold Freecycle Group was set up in September 2006 and is a branch of an incredibly fast-growing International Freecycle movement, which began in Tucson, Arizona, USA on 1st May 2003. Cotswold District Council has been working with Gloucestershire Police, local residents, and other agencies this month to ensure that forthcoming Stow Fair is as well controlled as the previous two events.
The Fair – held twice a year at Stow on the Wold – usually attracts a large number of gypsies and travellers, which can have a significant impact on the surrounding towns and villages. Read the rest of this entry »

This is the fourth Exhibition of paintings by Lucy Dickens at the Fosse Gallery. Lucy is the great, great granddaughter of the author and chronicler Charles Dickens and she began her career as a full-time artist in 1990 having previously worked as a fashion stylist for Conde Naste and then as a freelance illustrator for publications including The Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Mail, Vogue, Harpers and Queen and Tatler. A major exhibition of Richard Eurich’s work who is regarded as one of Britain’s leading figurative artists, in a tradition that runs from Hogarth and Turner, via the Pre-Raphaelites, to his contemporaries. He belonged to a very talented generation of British Artists that included Barbara Hepworth, John Piper, Eric Ravilious, Ceri Richards and Graham Sutherland and was regarded as their equal in originality, perceptiveness and the quality of his work.
